The mission of the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership is to inspire, educate, and develop ethical leaders in technology who will excel in their careers and in their communities.

Giving to RCEL

RCEL’s programming enhances a traditional engineering education by providing skills not typically covered in the Rice engineering curriculum. RCEL students learn to create and communicate a vision, build a high-performing team, form and execute collaborative plans, and create innovations that endure. By supporting RCEL, you invest in future engineering leaders that will solve the world’s most pressing problems.

Every gift, no matter small or large, makes an impact.

Whether you choose to give back through an annual gift through the 24-hour challenge, establishing an endowment or supporting another funding priority, every dollar counts. In fact, most gifts to Rice Engineering are less than $1,000 but together they add up to millions for student awards, academics, research and programs so we can educate leaders and tackle grand challenges. If you are interested in discussing how you can make a non-cash gift such as appreciated stock, Donor Advised Fund (DAF), IRA Charitable Rollover, or through a deferred gift vehicle such as a bequest, please contact engdev@rice.edu and we would love to help facilitate that donation.

Student Sponsorships

Annually, RCEL facilitates opportunities for our students to represent Rice on the national stage. These opportunities include attending the Naval Academy Leadership Conference in Annapolis, Maryland, and the U.S. Air Force Academy National Character & Leadership Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. RCEL also mentors student teams to participate in national competitions, including the Ethics in Engineering Case Competition hosted by Lockheed Martin at the company’s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.

These are formative opportunities for our students, and we couldn’t offer them without support from the RCEL Community and Rice Alumni network. Please consider giving to support these student opportunities. Learn more about this year’s opportunities here.

RCEL offers a variety of sponsorship and interaction opportunities to companies and organizations interested in giving back to the RCEL Student Community and supporting the RCEL mission.
