The RCEL Certificate in Engineering Leadership is the only four-year engineering leadership certificate in Texas and one of only a handful of educational innovations like it in the United States. The ultimate goal is to help students begin careers that align with the strengths learned in our program and make a positive difference with their engineering education.

A Master of Engineering Management & Leadership (MEML) degree provides skilled engineers with the leadership and management training needed to become effective engineering managers, VPs of Engineering, Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), and innovative leaders of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the emerging technology era known as Industry 4.0.

Certificate in Engineering Management and Leadership Program offers for-credit Rice courses to non-degree seeking professionals looking to build skills to excel in the new industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). Recognized as an official credential from Rice, certificates range from 10-12 credit hours and can be completed on-campus or online. The goal of the graduate CEML program is to support the growth and development of both aspiring engineers who want to enter engineering leadership positions, and those already in leadership positions.

Students may choose from the Certificate in Engineering Project Management or the Certificate in Product Management for Engineering Leaders, both industry-sought, high-demand focuses. While each certificate is offered as a standalone credential, a unique aspect of the CEML program is the certificates are stackable – that is, courses completed in the Certificate program can be applied to the requirements of the MEML degree.
